Dear customers and partners,

Important updates regarding the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) that may impact your business operations in Europe.

On November 26, 2025, the European Parliament voted to approve an amendment to the EU Deforestation Regulations (EUDR) to remove all printed products from the scope of the regulations, including books, journals, newspapers and magazines. This will now need to be agreed between the European Parliament, European Council and European Commission in December. If the removal of printed products isn’t agreed, the European Parliament also voted for the application to be delayed from December 30, 2025, to December 30, 2026, this postponement also being subject to an agreement between the European Parliament, European Council and European Commission in December.

Final decisions from the European Union on both are expected in the week of December 15.

Marquis Book Printing is closely monitoring the situation and actively taking measures to ensure your books would be ready and compliant as soon as possible if the new regulation is being enforced as planned at the end of this year.

New processes are being fine-tuned, and we continue to work closely with our suppliers to ensure that the required EUDR compliant components and related data are available.

Please feel free to reach out to your Marquis sales representative if you have any questions or need further information.

Thank you.
